Kids

Children are a precious gift.
Don't be afraid to bring your children up in the foundation of your beliefs. Help your children to know that they are loved and that no matter what, you will still love them and be there for them.

Jesus loves me, this I know. For the Bible tells me so.
Little ones to Him belong, they are week but He is Strong.

Weekend in San Antonio

We went to San Antonio for Meredith's southern reception.

Brian's sister hosted this party and it was a lot of fun. It is super hot in San Antonio right now. They haven't received the benefit of the rain we've gotten in the last couple of weeks. So, first thing we did when we got down there was swim in the hotel pool. It was a good reward for 5 hours of driving.

Jules only napped in the car on Saturday, so it took her a while to warm up to her new friends (Brian's nephews) in San Antonio. But she caught on quickly.

She's a veteran on the wagon...

She was a dancing fool after the dj's got going.

Much better dancing pictures on my camera... as well as a funny video. So stay tuned for that!

Sunday, we stopped in Georgetown because Gramps had an urge to go on a tour of the Innerspace Caverns. Jules' favorite part was the little tram (read: train) that you take down into the cave. She wouldn't walk inside, so my arms are a little sore from carrying her. Gramps and Grammy took turns as well, but I didn't want them to have to walk with her too much. I felt bad for Jules, because we were delaying her nap a bit by taking this tour. Otherwise, I probably would have made her walk (at least some).

See the little stuffed animal she has? Dad's cousin (who lives near San Antonio) came to the reception Saturday night and brought Jules a stuffed cow... which of course is named "Cow". My daughter is so logical! Jules loves it.

We went for a Dairy Queen treat (and lunch) in Georgetown before getting back on the road to home.

I have some better pictures on my camera, but will have to download (upload?) them later. These are all from my phone.

Toy Story

So Jules is on a Toy Story kick. The song that's stuck in my head right now totally fits...

Strange Things Are Happening to Me...
Can you hear it?

When things changed at our houses, I swore off crafts... gave away a lot of fabric, sold my sewing maching. Not sure what was going through my mind. I just KNEW I wasn't going to be doing stuff like that again.

Well, apparently I was wrong. ... DUH!

Babies are popping up everywhere. Surprising, right? No. But I've been asked to make a sling... so I figured I'd give it a shot. Last time I made one, it was pretty simple. Well, there's an urge there. Thinking I could make quite a few of them and sell them on esty or something. We'll see how the gift making ones go and how I feel after that. I could probably make a $10 profit or so on each one if I keep my costs down.

I LOVED my sling when Jules was an infant. It was something like this.

She was secure, felt good next to me... and I had two hands to DO THINGS!
So am I crazy or anything?
Strange Things...

Party Time

Yesterday, Aunt Mereny and Uncle Buck had a reception to celebrate their wedding.
We had a lot of fun. Jules cleans up real well. :-D

I keep forgetting to get ahold of my camera, so we have to deal with the stinky camera phone.
We have another party to celebrate the wedding next weekend, so maybe I'll remember the camera for that one... Hopefully other people will send me copies of their pictures.

Congratulations Aunt Mereny and Uncle Buck!

Their wedding was July 4th on the beach!

Austin

Jules and Jeff went down to Austin to visit Uncle Ben and other friends this week.

She's gotten lots of swimming in as well as quality time with Uncle Ben, of course.

Day at the Zoo

(OFF TOPIC) My sister is getting married today in Mexico. I can't wait to see their pictures and celebrate with them! Congratulations Mereny and Uncle Buck!

Jules, Grammy and I went to the Zoo Friday since we had the day off for the Independance Day Holiday. We were supposed to meet friends there, but the friends got caught up and got there a couple hours later than us.

We had a lot of fun and saw lots of animals. Jules says she wants to go again!

We perused the gift shop as we left. Grammy introduced Barney to Jules (in an attempt to encourage her love of numbers, she bought her a counting Barney DVD) a couple of weeks ago. Well, did you know that the Barney "Let's Go to the Zoo" was filmed at the Fort Worth Zoo in 2003? We just couldn't pass it up and purchased it today.

Smartie Pants

Friday evening when Jules got home from the sitters, she kept saying over and over again "We not say stupid."
During bath time, I finally asked her - Jules, who said Stupid? Of course, she said it was Jett. (the babysitter's son who is almost 4)

Monday evening, we were playing blocks in the den and Gramps was telling me about some frustrations of his. "these stupid people don't know... blah, blah" and Jules interrupts with "We not say stupid."

LOL
Gramps promptly apologized and changed his adjective to ignorant. :-D
